All services and facilities limited to use by authorized members and guests.


BASE SECURITY STATUS

The base is in Force Protection level Alpha.

You must enter the base using Gate 16-A to get to the Rod & Gun Club.
This is the gate off SR 444 near the golf course.
There are no guards at this gate, enter the base and proceed to the club.
Do not go through the commercial vehicle inspection station.

NOTICE
If you use a cell phone on WPAFB you must have a hands free device while driving.

Saturday & Sunday: 11:00-6:00
Monday & Tuesday: 11:00-1:00
Wednesday: 11:00-8:00

NEW EQUIPMENT

We have completed the new equipment installation. We now have five new Star/GMV trap machines and five sets of skeet machines.
In addition we have voice release systems for all of the trap machines.
Come on in and give the new equipment a try.

SKEET ACTIVITIES

Registered skeet shoots have been begun for this year.
The next skeet shoot will be July 11 & 12,2009.

TRAP ACTIVITIES

Registered trap shoots have begun for this year.

CONCEALED CARRY CLASSES

The Rod & Gun Club has no facilities to conduct the Ohio CCW course.
There are several clubs and activities which provide this training.
Classes range from $75.00 to $150.00 per student.

Local activities doing the training include Sim Trainer in Dayton, Lauhorner in Springfield, and www.handguntactics.com in Springfield.
Classes are offered at the new indoor ranges in the area.
Also www.Sim-Trainer.com in Dayton offers this course.
Club members can get a reduced price of $125.00 (off the advertised cost of $250.00) by mentioning their membership in the WPAFB R&G Club.


FISHING ACTIVITIES

There will be no Spring trout releases this year.
In place there should be a catfish release in the Spring.

Summer catfish releases should be in May.

Trout releases have been delayed due to high costs and may not be done until Fall.

BASE FISHING LICENSES

The base fishing licenses are now available at the Rod & Gun Club.
New fees this year are $6.00/daily and $18.00/annual.

BOATING EDUCATION

There have been recent changes to the Ohio boating laws.

The attached link has the new information about the new State Safety class.

HUNTING ACTIVITIES
The 2008-9 pheasant hunting has been completed.
There should be one in 2009 again, with no changes expected.
A base hunting license is required to hunt one base.
The hours for hunting will be 10:00 - 2:00 daily.

SCHEDULED CLASSES

Hunter Education

The club conducts monthly classes for first time hunters from August through April.
This class meets the requirements of the State of Ohio.

Information on other classes in the state may be obtained by calling the Hunter Education Hotline toll free in Columbus at (800)WILDLIFE.
All classes in Ohio are co-ordinated in this office.
